Empowerment Zone Project - San Antonio

The Center assisted the City of San Antonio in developing its proposal to secure an empowerment zone status for its inner city. Already designated as an Enterprise Community Zone city, the Center helped city staff put together its proposal to the USDHUD. It received its Empowerment Zone status in 2001.

San Antonio Community Needs Assessment

The Center assisted the Urban League in San Antonio by developing a comprehensive needs assessment addressing economic, workforce, business development, and quality of life issues in San Antonio and Bexar County.

South Texas Agenda - Future of the Region, Inc. (FORI)

The Center, working in conjunction with FORI, has put together several regional position papers addressing workforce development, education, environmental, infrastructure, strategic alliances, health care, and economic development issues in the South Texas region.

City of Yoakum - DeWitt/Lavaca Counties

The Center assisted the City of Yoakum and its Economic Development Corporation in puttting together a long term strategic plan designed to shape its future growth. This effort led to the rebuilding of its downtown business district and has set the stage for future development in the community.
